Terms of Service

Last updated: April 26, 2026

These Terms govern your use of cashme — the app, the website at usecashme.com, and any related services we provide. By creating a cashme account you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use cashme.

1. Who can use cashme

You must be at least 18 years old and have a Ghanaian phone number on a supported network (MTN, Telecel, AirtelTigo) to open an account. You must be using cashme for yourself, not on behalf of someone else.

2. Your account

You sign up using your phone number, which we verify by SMS. You choose a PIN that protects payments from your wallet. You also pick a public $cashtag — a unique handle friends can use to send you money.

  • Keep your PIN secret. Treat it like an ATM PIN.
  • If your phone is lost or stolen, contact us immediately at hello@usecashme.com.
  • You’re responsible for everything that happens through your account.
  • We can suspend or close accounts that look fraudulent, abusive, or that we’re required by law to freeze.

3. Your money

cashme keeps a digital balance of the funds you’ve added to your wallet. We hold those funds in segregated operational accounts at our payment partner. Your balance is yours; you can withdraw it back to MoMo at any time, subject to our partner’s settlement schedule and any limits we apply for fraud, anti-money-laundering, or regulatory reasons.

cashme is currently in private beta. We are not a bank and we are not currently licensed by the Bank of Ghana. We’re working toward formal licensing; until that’s complete, we operate under the umbrella of our payment partner and the limits that come with it.

4. Sending and receiving

You can send money to anyone with a Ghanaian phone number, with or without a cashme account. Transfers between cashme accounts are free. Top-ups and cash-outs through MoMo carry small fees from the network and our payment partner — you’ll see the exact fee before you confirm.

Once a transfer is confirmed it cannot be reversed by you. We can reverse transfers in narrow cases (proven fraud, our own error, regulatory order). If something looks wrong, contact us.

5. Limits

We apply per-transaction and rolling-window limits to all accounts. The exact numbers can change as we tune for fraud and as we move through KYC tiers. You’ll see your applicable limit in the app whenever a transfer would exceed it.

6. What you can’t do

  • Use cashme for anything illegal under Ghanaian law.
  • Send money you don’t own or knowingly receive money from someone else’s compromised account.
  • Try to break, probe, scrape, or reverse-engineer cashme.
  • Open multiple accounts to evade limits or bans.
  • Impersonate someone else with your $cashtag or display name.

7. Closing your account

You can close your account at any time by emailing hello@usecashme.com. We’ll send any remaining balance to a MoMo number you control before closing. We may close your account if you violate these Terms or if we’re legally required to.

8. Liability

cashme is provided as-is. We do our best to keep things running and your money safe, but to the extent permitted by law we’re not liable for losses outside our reasonable control — network outages, your device being compromised, someone else using your PIN. Our maximum liability for any claim is limited to the amount in your wallet at the time of the issue.

9. Changes

We may update these Terms as cashme grows. If a change is material, we’ll notify you in the app or by SMS. Your continued use after the change means you accept it.

10. Contact

Questions, complaints, or anything else: hello@usecashme.com.
